Outdoor LED display screens are often eroded by various bad weather conditions due to their outdoor work. Therefore, the display screen must have corresponding protective measures to ensure the service life and normal operation of the display screen. However, many customers are not very clear about how the protection level of LED display screens is divided. Next, Shenzhen Chengtong Optoelectronics LED Company will give you some knowledge. Waterproof indicators are generally more for outdoor LED display screens, so they are introduced here. Conventional outdoor direct-plug LED display screens are outdoor modules plus closed box structures that are processed to form outdoor waterproof display boxes, and the waterproof display boxes are assembled into outdoor LED display screens. Therefore, the display box is the basic unit that constitutes the display screen. The box structure is adopted, first, it is convenient for scheduling, aging, and on-site maintenance; second, it is convenient for packaging and transportation; third, it is convenient for on-site installation and disassembly. The display box is equipped with a display module in front of the display box, and a display driver circuit board is fixed inside the box. The switching power supply is installed on the back cover of the box. Exhaust fans, punched blinds, etc. are also installed on the back cover of the box. The LED cabinet is sprayed with plastic on the inner and outer surfaces, which has the functions of anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, anti-oxidation, and flame retardant, providing guarantee for the safety of the display screen. As for the structure of the display screen, first, the module should be an outdoor waterproof module, second, the back of the module should be painted with three-proof paint, and third, the box should be a waterproof box with good sealing. It can be tested for waterproofing and water spraying on the surface of the display screen. After multiple tests, the IP protection level of the outdoor LED display waterproof box must reach IP65 to achieve true waterproofing.
The outdoor LED display screen has an IP65 waterproof level, 6 means preventing objects and dust from entering the screen, and 5 means preventing water from entering the screen in the case of spraying. Of course, there is no problem with heavy rain.
The simple box of the outdoor waterproof LED display is generally marked with IP65 waterproof on the front, because the simple box has no back door. This design facilitates the heat dissipation of the machine. After the whole screen is installed, it needs to be waterproofed with aluminum-plastic panels and waterproof glue and other materials. The waterproof effect also reaches IP65. Now most outdoor full-color LED displays use simple boxes.
It may be easier for everyone to understand this parameter by giving an example: for example, the protection level of the LED display screen is IP54, IP is the marking letter, the number 5 is the first marking number, and 4 is the second marking number.
The first marking number indicates the contact protection and foreign object protection level, and the second marking number indicates the waterproof protection level. It should be noted that the second characteristic number after IP is 6 and below, and the test becomes increasingly strict as the number increases.
That is to say, the LED display screen marked as IPX6 can also pass the tests of IPX5, IPX4, IPX3, IPX2, IPX1, and IPX0. The test of the second characteristic number after IP is 7 or 8, and the test type of 6 and below is two different types.
That is to say, being marked as IPX7 or IPX8 does not mean that it meets the requirements of IPX6 and IPX5 at the same time. LED display screens that meet the requirements of IPX7 and IPX6 at the same time can be marked as IPX7/IPX6.
I believe that now everyone has a certain understanding of the protection classification level of LED display screens. After understanding the protection level of LED display screens, I believe that you will be safe and worry-free when purchasing outdoor LED display screens.
