There are various types of surface treatments for LED displays, which not only affect the appearance of the display, but also directly relate to its performance and service life.

The following are some of the main types of surface treatments for LED displays:

Packaging technology related processing

1. DIP packaging (plug-in lamp module)

Features: The lamp pins of the DIP package pass through the PCB board, and the tin is filled in the lamp hole by welding.

Advantages: large viewing angle, high brightness, and good heat dissipation.

Disadvantages: low pixel density.

2. SMT packaging (surface mount module)

Features: The SMT packaged lamp is welded to the surface of the PCB board through a welding process, and the lamp pins do not need to pass through the PCB board.

Advantages: large viewing angle, soft display image, high pixel density, suitable for indoor viewing.

Disadvantages: The brightness is not high enough, and the heat dissipation of the lamp itself is not good enough.

3. Three-in-one packaging

Features: The three different colors of R, G, and B LED chips are encapsulated in the same colloid.

Advantages: simple production and good display effect.

Disadvantages: difficult to separate light and color, and high cost.

4. Vertical parallel package

Features: The three independently packaged SMT lamps of R, G, and B are vertically paralleled at a certain distance.

Advantages: It combines the advantages of three-in-one package and can solve the problems of its light separation and color separation.

Special process treatment

1. Nano coating

Application: Especially suitable for LED small pitch display screens.

Advantages: It provides nano moisture-proof, hydrophobic, anti-yellowing, anti-mildew, anti-corrosion and other functions, matte degree is less than 5, simple process, nano moisture-proof, no yellowing, good anti-corrosion performance, good hydrophobicity, transparency greater than 99%, high dielectric constant, and coverage of 100%.

Operation method: soaking, spraying, brushing, etc.

2. Vacuum coating

Advantages: waterproof, moisture-proof, anti-corrosion, thin film, no yellowing.

Disadvantages: no anti-collision, low efficiency, expensive equipment, and shielding is required.

Plasma surface treatment

Technical features: Plasma surface treatment technology can significantly improve the activity of the material surface, enhance wettability, adhesion and welding strength, and remove surface pollutants such as grease, dust, oxides, etc.

Application effect: Improve the packaging reliability, coating quality, printing effect and welding strength of LED display screens, and is suitable for multiple links in the manufacturing process of LED display screens.

Advantages: Safe, environmentally friendly, economical, and suitable for surface treatment of various materials, such as rubber, plastic, metal ceramics, etc.

Other surface treatments

In addition to the above-mentioned packaging technology and special process treatments, the surface treatment of LED display screens may also include frosting treatment, anti-reflective treatment, etc., to improve the viewing comfort and visual effect of the display screen.

In summary, there are various types of surface treatments for LED display screens, and each treatment method has its unique advantages and scope of application.

When choosing an LED display screen, the appropriate surface treatment method should be selected according to the specific application scenario and needs.

1. Plug-in module refers to the lamp with DIP package that passes the lamp foot through the PCB board and fills the lamp hole with tin through welding. The module made by this process is indeed a plug-in module; the advantages are large viewing angle, high brightness, and good heat dissipation; the disadvantage is low pixel density

2. Surface mount module Surface mount is also called SMT. The SMT packaged lamp is welded on the surface of the PCB board through the welding process. The lamp foot does not need to pass through the PCB board. The module made by this process is called a surface mount module; the advantages are: large viewing angle, soft display image, high pixel density, suitable for indoor viewing; the disadvantages are not high enough brightness, and the heat dissipation of the lamp itself is not good enough

3. Sub-surface mount module is a product between DIP and SMT. The packaging surface of its LED lamp is the same as SMT, but its positive and negative pins are the same as DIP. It is also welded through the PCB during production. Its advantages are: high brightness and good display effect. The disadvantages are: complex process and difficult repair

4. Three-in-one surface mount refers to encapsulating three different color LED chips of R, G, and B in the same colloid; the advantages are: simple production and good display effect, the disadvantages are: difficult to separate light and color, and high cost

5. Three-in-one surface mount refers to vertically juxtaposing three independently packaged SMT lamps of R, G, and B at a certain distance, which not only has all the advantages of three-in-one, but also solves the various disadvantages of three-in-one.
