LED display module specification calculation method

Spacing calculation method:

The distance between each pixel and another pixel. Each pixel can be an LED light such as 1R, two LED lights 2R/1R1G, three LED lights 2R1G

Length and height calculation method: dot spacing × number of dots = length/height

For example: P16 length = 16 dots × 1.6㎝ = 25.6㎝

Height = 8 dots × 1.6㎝ = 12.8㎝

P10 length = 32 dots × 1.0㎝ = 32㎝

Height = 16 dots × 1.0㎝ = 16㎝

Number of modules used for the screen: total area ÷ module length ÷ module height = number of modules used

For example: 10 The number of modules used by a square meter P16 outdoor monochrome LED display is equal to:

10 square meters ÷ 0.256 meters ÷ 0.128 meters = 305.17678 ≈ 305

More accurate calculation method: number of modules used for length × number of modules used for height = total number of modules used

For example: the number of modules used for a 5-meter-long and 2-meter-high P16 monochrome LED display:

Number of modules used for length = 5 meters ÷ 0.256 meters = 19.53125 ≈ 20

Number of modules used for height = 2 meters ÷ 0.128 meters = 15.625 ≈ 16

Total number of modules used = 20 × 16 = 320

An independent unit that is determined by the circuit and installation structure and has display function and constitutes the LED display screen. 

Simply put, for the convenience of assembly and display, the semi-finished products are usually provided in the form of display modules, which combine multiple display modules and display drivers. 

Indoor screens are commonly known as "unit boards"; outdoor screens are commonly known as "modules", and then several modules are combined with chassis, fans, power supplies, etc. to form a "box", which is mostly used for large full-color screens.

·Indoor screen unit boards usually have 64x32 (64 columns and 32 rows, composed of 32 modules), 64x16

(64 columns and 16 rows, composed of 16 modules), etc. The following figure is a 64x16 unit board:

·Outdoor screen modules usually have 64x32, 32x32, 32x16, 16x16, 16x8

The above figure is a 16x8 (2 red) outdoor screen module. A waterproof structure is added for full outdoor use. We can see the plastic shell. 

The far right is its entire structure planing diagram: the display board is plugged with lamp beads, and the back panel is the display drive circuit. 

This is a split structure. There are also some that make the display board and the display drive circuit on a circuit board. The overall structure, we can see the difference in the two pictures below. 

The panel and back shell are actually a plastic cover. There are holes on the panel corresponding to the lamp bead position to allow the lamp bead to leak out. 

There are screw holes or magnetic columns on the back shell for installation, making the module easy to assemble. The front of the module is filled with waterproof glue for display screens.

The cabinet used for large outdoor full-color screens is usually composed of several modules + chassis + fan + power supply
