Simply put, for the convenience of assembly and display, the semi-finished products are usually provided in the form of display modules, which combine multiple display modules and display drivers.
Indoor screens are commonly known as "unit boards"; outdoor screens are commonly known as "modules", and then several modules are combined with chassis, fans, power supplies, etc. to form a "box", which is mostly used for large full-color screens.

The above figure is a 16x8 (2 red) outdoor screen module. A waterproof structure is added for full outdoor use. We can see the plastic shell.
The far right is its entire structure planing diagram: the display board is plugged with lamp beads, and the back panel is the display drive circuit.
This is a split structure. There are also some that make the display board and the display drive circuit on a circuit board. The overall structure, we can see the difference in the two pictures below.
The panel and back shell are actually a plastic cover. There are holes on the panel corresponding to the lamp bead position to allow the lamp bead to leak out.
There are screw holes or magnetic columns on the back shell for installation, making the module easy to assemble. The front of the module is filled with waterproof glue for display screens.
