What should I do if I encounter technical problems when I first start selling LED displays?
I'm a complete newbie in LED display sales, having never done sales before. I thought that with someone teaching me and my own hard work, I should be able to learn. However, on my first day, I was told to study materials, and the same thing happened on the second day. On the third day, the person teaching me was the boss, who asked if I remembered the basic parameters of the unit boards. I said I hadn't remembered all those parameters. On the fifth day, they gave me the phone numbers of hundreds of customers and told me to call them to make sales.
I was completely bewildered. I didn't know anything about sales. The existing customers in my phone number asked some technical questions, but I had no idea how to answer them. Every time a customer asked me a question, I would ask the boss, because I was afraid of giving the wrong answer and not being able to answer anything at all. But I felt the boss was annoyed too. Before I joined, I told him I was a newbie, and he said I could learn if I didn't know how, but who taught me? When he taught me, he used some technical jargon that I couldn't understand at all, and a colleague who was also new to the job couldn't understand either.
Sometimes when customers asked us questions, we would ask the boss, but the boss never gave us a direct answer. I feel that the pressure I'm under right now isn't the lack of customers, but rather the fact that I don't know anything about it but have to pretend I do and answer customer questions.
